I’m a home cook who decided to dive into the deep end, refurbish a catering trailer, and start serving traditional-style Italian pasta dishes.

I’ve gone from job to job chasing happiness, only to find I had been doing it the whole time whilst cooking.

I’ve cooked for friends and family over the years, volunteering or being volunteered, but I never went to culinary school, cooked in a professional kitchen, or had any kind of training.

I changed jobs a lot because I got tired or bored or they simply didn’t make me happy, and I’m always trying to follow the path that makes me the happiest. I’m not much to do something with a half-effort, and I let myself be consumed by what I love and enjoy, even if I don’t appear to be sometimes.

I set out to make food that was an affordable treat that anyone could have in the middle of a pandemic, as well as affordable for the business to run, and I did just that!

I’m only three years into my cooking journey, and I feel I have simultaneously done so much and so little. The more I learn, the less I know. In my three years I have persevered through cooking it sub-zero temperatures, prepping in snow, exploded trailer tyres, and bad car purchases. I have made life-long friends, become a multi-award winning business owner, partnered with NOWAH Catering and become a distributor of La Pastaia pasta machines.

And now I’m leaving it all behind to go on my next cooking adventure in New Zealand where I am setting up a pasta business in Hamilton alongside the Gather Food House cafe, and taking on an opportunity of a lifetime.

I feel that I’m only just getting started, and I’m so excited to see where I go!
